Planet Podcast: GarageBand
In this project, children will write and produce a podcast with the theme, Reconnecting To Our Natural Environment’. Their challenge will be to inspire others to connect with nature and live more sustainably. Children will learn how our community can work together to make a difference and they will construct a podcast sharing their newfound knowledge. Podcast recordings will be emailed to families. We also encourage students to share their productions with their family and school community.

Eco-home: Minecraft
In this workshop, children will discover futuristic eco-homes and eco-cities built around the world. They will implement these strategies and techniques to design, build and code their own eco-home in Minecraft. Students will learn about passive heating and cooling, thermal mass, sustainable construction, insulation, solar energy, water recycling and food production.

– Minecraft Education Edition installed on device and signed into.
Note: Department of Education students automatically have a Minecraft Education Edition account.

AR/VR: Urban Habitat
In this workshop, students will design, build and code a 3D urban habitat to create a safe space for native wildlife to rest, nest and digest in developed towns and cities. Students will explore their creations in augmented and virtual reality.

EnviroQuest: Video Game
In this project, children will design and build a game teaching their community how to live greener. Children will learn about sustainable consumerism, transport, food, energy and waste. Students will use this information to design and construct their game.

Eco-Bot Waste Warrior
In this project, children will design and construct a robot to locate, collect and dispose of land trash and pollution. After taking a close look at existing robots cleaning our planet, children will design, build and code their own robot to clean their local area.
